Check out this San Francisco epoxy flooring transformation
At Baker’s Floor and Surface, we understand the importance of strong, durable, commercial flooring. That’s why we love our epoxy flooring projects. Epoxy is a popular and versatile flooring option because its plastic-like material is resistant to moisture and liquid, providing a slip-resistant surface that’s easy to maintain.
Baker’s recently put in an epoxy floor in a 3,670 square foot lobby in a large, prominent building in San Francisco. For this project, we etched all the areas and shot blasted the concrete to obtain the proper surface profile. Then, we prepped and primed the areas and installed multiple lifts with aggregate to reach a 3-inch height. Finally, we applied two coats of penetrating sealer and burnished to provide depth of shine.
With every epoxy flooring project, we utilize a state-of-the-art process. This includes:
- Coating and glue removal with a shot blasting machine.
- Applying a base layer of epoxy with a sand broadcast if needed.
- Applying cove base when specified.
- Applying topcoat of epoxy or urethane.
Epoxy flooring is the perfect choice for coating rough or pitted concrete floor. With epoxy, your floors will be level, shiny, and extremely durable. Epoxy comes in many colors and patterns. These include: primary colors, earth tones, checkerboard patterns, stripes, and more! If you’re looking for an even more decorative look, we can also create the presence of granite or terrazzo by combining the epoxy with color chips.
Our clients in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area often choose epoxy for their large flooring areas because it’s easy to clean, resistant to liquid, and doesn’t erode or hold dust.
