San Francisco Office Building Gets New Epoxy Flooring

Check out why so many businesses are turning to epoxy

Epoxy flooring and epoxy coatings are the perfect solutions for your dingy concrete flooring. They are durable, long-lasting, slip resistant and offer building owners and managers a high quality, aesthetically pleasing, thick, plastic-like material for their high-traffic floors.

Baker’s Floor and Surface recently completed a concrete grinding and epoxy coating project at a large office building in the heart of San Francisco. For this project, there were a number of steps we took before applying the epoxy coating. First, we taped the workplace. Then, we tested the concrete density to determine the media. We then prepped the workspace and mechanically scuffed/grinded the surface area. Any remaining cracks or divots were filled with epoxy filler. Next, we installed one coat of general polymers solid epoxy base coat and allowed it to dry. Finally, we installed one coat of general polymers solid epoxy topcoat. We were able to complete this 650 square foot project in six days.

Epoxy is extremely versatile and is perfect for coating rough and pitted concrete floors. But, it can also be applied over steel, wood, ceramic tile, metal, and fiberglass. In addition to providing superior coverage in office spaces, it’s ideal for buildings where food preparation takes place or in manufacturing facilities. Epoxy comes in many shades and color and can even be applied in different patterns like checkerboard and stripes.

Building owners and managers throughout the Bay Area are turning to epoxy flooring for their spaces. Whether you have a large office space, kitchen facility, or warehouse, epoxy flooring may be the perfect solution for you. It’s resistant to spills, stains, and debris and comes in a wide range of colors.
