Cost-Effective and Unique Concrete Flooring Possibilities
Baker’s Floor and Surface gives this LinkedIn office a beautiful new floor
LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, is continuing to grow daily. Currently, their professional social network has 400 million members! With more than 9,200 employees worldwide, this company is only getting larger. LinkedIn has campuses throughout the Bay Area including San Francisco, Mountain View, and Sunnyvale. Recently, Baker’s Floor and Surface was selected to work on a concrete project at their Sunnyvale campus.
Over the course of just six days, we transformed 1,000 square feet of concrete into a slick, multi-functioning level surface. This look was created using a cementitious/polymer topping with a matte black epoxy coating. We love working with polymer overlays because they are so versatile and extremely cost-effective. Check out the before and after photos of our LinkedIn project below.
Replacing a concrete slab tends to be messy, time-consuming, and expensive. When you choose a polymer overlay, you can give your dull or bland concrete an easy makeover. Or, if you prefer, a concrete overlay can transform your concrete back to its original, pristine condition.
Cementitious/polymer overlays are not ideal for all existing concrete. The concrete cannot have large cracks or an unstable subbase. The area must also be structurally sound. Any cracks larger than a hairline must be fixed before applying a polymer overlay.
Overlays work well when you’re looking to add pattern, color, or texture to concrete slabs. Our skilled installers can even replicate the look and feel of natural stone, slate, tile, or brick. Sometimes we use stains or dyes to create colorful designs or patterns. Concrete overlays are also great for smoothing and leveling uneven concrete surfaces.
Our customers love this technique because it’s much cheaper than pouring new concrete and it can be done quickly and with minimum downtime. Companies like LinkedIn do not have time for long-term flooring projects. They expect the work to be done efficiently and effectively. Baker’s Floor and Surface was able to deliver this project in a timely manner with minimal disruption.
We would love to help you with your next concrete overlay project. If you have further questions about cementitious/polymer overlays or would like to schedule a flooring consultation, contact Baker’s Floor and Surface at 650-652-9440.
