Google Contracts Baker’s to Refinish Concrete Staircase at Headquarters

Polished concrete turns tired, run-down surfaces into beautiful spaces. The grinding and polishing process gives concrete new life again. Baker’s Floor and Surface recently completed a 300 square foot concrete grinding and polishing project at Google. This project consisted of two staircases and landings. For this project, we hand grinded the concrete floor using a 4-step process (2 diamond and 2 resin blades). The concrete was then polished and sealed with a burnish finish. The burnished finish provided a hard-wearing durable finish with a surface luster. Many of our clients choose to grind and polish existing concrete instead of replacing it because it’s more cost efficient, it eliminates the time it takes to replace concrete that still in good condition, and it creates the perfect base for new floor covering. If you’re trying to decide if concrete grinding and polishing is your best option, here are a few more of the benefits. Polished concrete is:

  • Low maintenance, durable and easy to clean
  • Increases the safety of your property
  • Hard wearing and will not chip or dent
  • Long life expectancy
  • Reduces dust mite and allergen problems, resistant to mold

Concrete grinding/polishing is a great option for concrete floors that need a little “pick me up.” If you’re interested in learning more about our process or would like an estimate, give Baker’s a call today.
